The scope lines

Ask every bidder to say, for each line, whether it is priced, included, or excluded. A line a bid never mentions is the one that turns into a change order.

Where concrete bids differ

The gaps worth a written answer from every bidder before award.

  • Reinforcing steel priced as furnish-only, with placement assumed to be by the rebar sub or the GC.
  • Cold and hot weather protection, heaters and blankets left out of the base price and billed as they are needed.
  • Testing and inspection coordination assumed to be the owner's, including the cylinders and the lab scheduling.
  • Pumping excluded where the site layout makes a pump unavoidable.
