The scope lines

Ask every bidder to say, for each line, whether it is priced, included, or excluded. A line a bid never mentions is the one that turns into a change order.

Where masonry bids differ

The gaps worth a written answer from every bidder before award.

  • Grout and reinforcing in CMU carried by neither the mason nor the concrete sub.
  • Through-wall flashing and weeps assumed to be by the waterproofing or roofing sub.
  • Scaffolding excluded, or priced for one lift less than the elevations need.
  • Lintels set but not furnished, with the steel left to miscellaneous metals.
