The scope lines

Ask every bidder to say, for each line, whether it is priced, included, or excluded. A line a bid never mentions is the one that turns into a change order.

• Connection design and engineering excluded, or assumed to be done by the engineer of record.
• Crane and hoisting left to the GC, which can be the largest single difference between bids.
• Miscellaneous metals, stairs and railings split out to a separate package without saying so.
• Shop primer included but field touch-up and galvanising repair excluded.
