The scope lines

Ask every bidder to say, for each line, whether it is priced, included, or excluded. A line a bid never mentions is the one that turns into a change order.

Where plumbing bids differ

The gaps worth a written answer from every bidder before award.

  • Site utilities beyond five feet of the building carried by neither plumbing nor sitework.
  • Fixtures priced install-only on some bids and furnish-and-install on others.
  • Gas piping excluded, or limited to the building and not the meter.
  • Cutting, coring and patching assumed to be by the GC.
